RESOLUTION OF THE USATF YOUTH DIVISION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

& AAU ATHLETIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

WHERE AS the Youth Division of USA Track & Field, Inc. (“USATF”) and Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc., (AAU) Athletics Committee of acknowledge that it is important to promote the sport of athletics at all levels; and

WHERE AS The Youth Division of USATF and The Athletics Committee of AAU desire to develop a joint national outdoor track & field championship schedule; and

WHERE AS The Youth Division of USATF and The Athletics Committee of AAU agree that it is in the best interest of the sport of athletics for The Youth Division of USATF and the Athletics Committee of AAU to avoid scheduling their respective track & field outdoor championships, including, but not limited to USATF Association Championships, AAU District Qualifiers, USATF Regional Championships, and AAU National Qualifiers, on conflicting dates; and

WHERE AS the Youth Division of USATF and the Athletics Committee of AAU recognize that USATF and AAU currently schedule their respective Junior Olympics National Track & Field Championships so as to avoid direct conflicts between those events;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Athletics Committee agree that any AAU athlete who competes and receives a mark at the USATF Junior National Championship shall, upon proper documentation, be automatically waived into the AAU National Junior Olympics Track & Field Games; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that no USATF Association shall schedule their respective Association Junior Olympics Track & Field Championship or Regional Junior Olympics Track & Field Championship so as to be in direct conflict with an AAU District Qualifier or an AAU National Qualifier within their USATF Association or within their AAU District; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that no AAU District shall schedule their respective District Qualifier or National Junior Olympics Qualifier so as to be in direct conflict with a USATF Association Junior Olympics Track & Field Championship or USATF Regional Junior Olympics Track & Field Championship within their AAU District or within their USATF Association;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Youth Division of USATF and the Athletic Committee of AAU shall adopt the attached Joint USATF & AAU National Championship Calendar:
