2011 USA National Youth Indoor Track & Field Championships
Sanctioned Event      

Date: March 11-12, 2011

ELIGIBILITY Individuals: Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States, and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships.  See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions.  A competitor must compete in his/her age division only.   Competitors in the Bantam and Midget divisions may compete in a maximum of three events, including relays.  Competitors in the Youth, Intermediate, and Young divisions may compete in a maximum of four events, including relays. All athletes must be 2011 members of USATF in good standing.

Age Divisions:
Sub-Bantam (born 2003 – later)
Bantam (born  2001 - 2002)
Midget (born 1999–2000)
Youth (born 1997–1998)
Intermediate  (born 1995–1996)
Young (born 1993-1994)
* athletes born in 1992 are also eligible if they do not turn 19 on or before 7/31/2011
High School (born 1993 – 1996)
* from the same high school or team

(you must be 18 or younger on the day of the national championship).

ENTRY INFO: Sub-Bantam/Bantam/Midget/Youth divisions:
the top six (6) finishers at the zonal meet qualify to compete in the 2011 USATF National Indoor Zonal Championships.

Intermediate/Young/High School divisions:
can compete in this national zonal competition without competing in the qualifying zonal meet. Unique to this competition is combined relays for the Intermediate and Young divisions. This means that athletes age 15 – 18 can run on the same relay team. Relays for the sub-bantam, bantam, midget and youth divisions are not combined.


AWARDS USATF Indoor Zonal Medals, 1--6th  place.

RULES: In accordance with 2011 Competition Rule Book.

RELAYS: Athletes must be members of the same participating Club which is a current 2011                         member, in ‘good standing’ with USATF. USATF relay dress code applies.

ENTRY PROCESS:

Electronic Entries – Registration for the meet is at the following location:

www.coacho.com. The online entry system is available beginning Tuesday, February 15, 2011 and closes Wednesday, March 9, 2011.  The entry fee is $8.00 per event and $32.00 per relay. Additionally, you must pay your entry fee via the Internet using a major credit or debit card (charged as a credit card).

AWARDS:

USATF National Indoor Zonal Championship medals will be awarded to the top three individuals and the top three relay teams in each event of each age division. 

IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN: At the track one hour before each event.

EVENT CHECK-IN: There will be separate check-in areas for Running and Field events. Athletes must check in at these designated areas 45 minutes prior to the event's scheduled starting time. All athletes will be required to remain in the designated warm-up areas after checking in.

Packet Pick Up: At the Best Western Chicago Hillside Hotel and Conference Center from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11th. Packet pick up will be at the track facility from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 12th. All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers during competition on the front on their jerseys.  If an athlete loses the bib number, a replacement can be purchased for a fee of $5.00. *Note: No entry changes/no substitutions/no adds/no new entries will be accepted at the meet site. However, USATF Illinois will correct all data entry mistakes; and all sex and division errors.

EVENT RESULTS: During competition, event results will be posted at the track facility.  Additionally, event results will be posted at www.USATF.org.

PROTESTS: There will be a $100.00 fee for all protests.  Protests must be submitted to the Protest Referee at once and not later than 30 minutes after a result has been announced.  The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld.  RULES – CONDUCT & FACILITY: The following are not permitted at Proviso West High School:

Alcohol
Smoking
Glass or metal containers
Weapons, fireworks, explosives or munitions
Laser pointers
Gum on the track or the infield
Pets

Plastic bottles and coolers are permitted but are subject to inspection by security personnel.

ADMISSION FEES:  $5.00 per day for Saturday and/or Sunday and $7.00 for a two-day pass. Pre-school children are free. Only those coaches who present a 2011 USATF background-checked membership cards will be admitted FREE.  Coaches’ passes will not be issued! 

Senior citizens age 65 and above admitted free.

Facilities: 200 Meter flat surface, six lanes (8 lanes on straight way). Fully automated timing will be provided by Adkinstrak Timing Associates. A concession stand will be open during the meet.
